Time for an update from our 2018 Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series Everyday Swimmers!
The “Everyday Swimmers” are regular New Zealanders who have never done a NZ Ocean Swim Series event before. We have been sharing their journey of preparing for the event with you, right up until event day. If you haven’t met them yet check our our @nzoceanswim Instagram Story highlights!
Ralph Cabman
Ralph is a paddle boarder who also loves running. Ralph is preparing for the Auckland ‘King of the Bays’!
“It’s been a roller coaster since I first got back in the pool, starting easy and slowly building my swimming fitness… I had a hiccup last week where I ended up seeing my physio due to a pulled lower back.. it’s pretty unfortunate but hey, I still have time to get ready. Also, I found my old wetsuit and it looks like I need to get one SOS.”

Lisa Ison
After losing over 70kg, Lisa has decided to tackle the Auckland ‘King of the Bays’ in April as her next challenge!
“Hi All, Training is going well. I’ve been trying to open swim at least once a week and at the pool 2-3 times. I’ve started with a swim coach which I’m excited about – to swim with others is way more fun than on my own.”
