INDIVIDUAL AWARDS AT EACH EVENT
Medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Long events
Ages are as follow for LONG events (5 year age groups)
12-13yrs, 14-15yrs, 16-19yrs, 20-24yrs, 25-29yrs, 30-34yrs, 35-39yrs, 40-44yrs, 45-49yrs, 50-54yrs, 55-59yrs, 60-64yrs, 65-69yrs, 70-74yrs, 75-79yrs, 80-84yrs and 85+ years.
Non Wetsuit division Medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Long events
20-29yrs, 30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60-69yrs, 70-79yrs, 80+ years.
New for 2026, Medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the mid events
For Mid Events ages are 10yr age groups after the age of 20.
10-11yrs, 12-13yrs, 14-15yrs 16-19yrs, 20-29yrs, 30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60-69yrs, 70-79yrs, 80 Plus.
Age groups for individual event awards are calculated based on the day of event.
Swim 3 events and be eligible for the series overall standings in your age group
OVERALL AGE GROUP LONG SERIES POINTS
To be eligible for the overall end of season series points you need to have swum at least 3 long swims. If you swim more, we will take the 3 best point scoring events to give you a total amount. If you have swum 3 events and are in the top 3 in your age group you will receive a medal at the end of year prize giving.

Team / SNZ and Schools Zonal Competition
TEAMS COMPETITIONS
We have a number of new teams competitions this season.
Teams Competition this can be any team that is not associated to the SNZ age program. If you are a local team, no affiliation fees needed such as the Bay2Bay, Leigh Swimmers, SwimSmooth, COWS, a Tri Club, a water polo club or event Roskill Masters swimming. If you have a Adult group you swim with you are eligible for this competition. Every swimmer from your team, entered in the Mid or Long distance swims, will earn points for your end of year points score. We will update you after each event. The top team in the season will receive a $2500 cash prize and a Massive Trophy!
- Entry criteria for the Teams Competition:
- any team that is not associated to the SNZ age program
- must be entered in the Mid or Long swim.
Swimming NZ Top Open Water Club for the Ocean Swim Series - When you enter if you are a registered paid up SNZ member, you can select your club team to allocate points to. Every swimmer, entered in the Mid or Long distance swims, scores points. The top club in the season will revive a $1000 cash prize and a Massive Trophy!
- Entry criteria for the Swimming NZ Clubs Competition:
- must be a current and registered SNZ member
- must be entered in the Mid or Long swim.
- The more people who swim, the more points you earn.
- The higher you place in your age group category, the more points you receive.
- Team members can be added throughout the season.
