MEP SWIMMERS
If you have purchased a 5 or more Multi Event Pass for the season your pack will be sent out to you in the first week of October. This will have all your goodies, your timing strap (you will use this for ALL your swims this season), and a swim cap.
If you entered a 2-4 Multi Event pass and are swimming in the Bay of Islands you will collect your pack there and use this for Swim the Shore so will not need to pick up another pack.
If you are a Multi Event Swimmer and Swim the Shore is your first swim for the season, you can check the collection points and times below to collect your pack for the season.
INDIVIDUAL SWIMMERS
Friday 16 December – 10:30 am – 5:00 pm Takapuna Beach
Saturday 17 December – 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm Narrow Neck Beach Reserve
Parking & Transport
There is limited parking around Narrow Neck Beach, so we recommend parking in Takapuna and catching the swimmer-only busses to the start line. If you need more information on parking check out I Love Takapuna for all parking options.
We are not providing chartered buses for this swim. There are AT Buses that leave from near the main event site direct to Narrow Neck Beach. Check out the AT Journey Planner or our TRANSPORT tab on the webpage for more detail
Bag Transfer & Bag Storage
We will transfer your gear bag to the event finish line. You will need to bring your own small gear bag along and label it with your surname and cap colour (they will be organised by cap colour in the bag storage area on Takapuna Beach Reserve).
Your bag needs to be placed at the bag truck at the start area at Narrowneck Beach prior to the event briefing. There will be an event crew member on hand to help you. The bag truck will close 15 mins before the start of the Compulsory Safety Briefing at 2:00 pm. This is to ensure we have all your gear back at the main event site before the first swimmers cross the finish.
Once you have finished your swim head to the bag collection area at the top of Takapuna Reserve and one of our friendly crew will help to find your bag.
